A Maktab is a place where one can get Islamic education on a daily basis — the concept is not a new one; a major portion of the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was spent establishing Makaatib. Iqra Academy is itself an Islamic Maktab, giving children and youth a structured, ongoing Islamic education alongside the academy's wider social welfare work.

Two ways to join the Maktab:

Weekday Maktab

After-school Islamic studies classes for kids and youth, running through the week.

Weekend Maktab

Islamic studies classes held on weekends, for families who prefer a weekend schedule.

Enquiry

Submit the enquiry form or call the office. We respond within two business days with available places.

Assessment

A short, informal reading assessment places your child in the right class and level.

Enrolment

Complete the enrolment form and initial fee payment to confirm the place.

Orientation

New families attend a short orientation before term begins, meeting teachers and receiving the term calendar.
